ABOUT
All parents and guardians of pupils are automatically members of ‘Friends of SPH’. ‘Friends of SPH’ exists to strengthen the links between home and school. Through meetings and social events it gives parents and staff the opportunity to meet informally and to exchange ideas. By fund-raising activities it helps to provide additional benefits for pupils and teachers, beyond the provision made by the Education Authority.
Friends also provide help with refreshments at Parents Evenings and School events.
We are a friendly team who meet roughly twice a term and we encourage parents to become involved, new faces with new ideas are always welcome!
We are presently raising funds for the Learning Resource Centre.
The most successful event last year was a 'Quiz Night'.
You can also provide support in other ways: -
Make a regular donation by Gift Aid. If you sign a Gift Aid form and you are a taxpayer then for every £10 donated SPH can reclaim the tax amounting to £2.80. If each family contributed £30 per year (the equivalent of 79p per school week), we calculate that, together with the Gift Aid claim we could raise approximately £23,000 per annum- just think how that could make a real difference to the school!
Join The 100 Club – annual subscription £12 per year (per number) there is a monthly draw with 1st 2nd and 3rd prizes. The 100 Club has its own page which can be found here.
